Van Tuinen Painting was founded in 1974 by the original owner Jim Van Tuinen. Van Tuinen Painting was quickly recognized as one of the top painting companies in Kalamazoo due to its devotion to providing the best experience to our customers by delivering quality painting results and excellent customer service. We are very involved in the community and are devoted to our customers and making Van Tuinen Painting a great place to work.

In 2016 Jim Van Tuinen started the transition of ownership to Nick Barber who has been with the company since 2004.  Nick has continued to strive on continued growth on our processes and employees to provide the best possible painting experience to our customers while also delivering the best customer service in our industry. Nick took over full ownership in 2020 and the business has been thriving since. From our office staff to our field employees, you will be treated with respect, kindness and an overall great experience. 

With over 50 years in business and our company experience we are known in the greater Kalamazoo area as the “best painting contractor”, we hear this frequently and are very proud to know we are Kalamazoo’s go to painting contractor. We complete both interior/exterior on residential and commercial projects. We have extensive knowledge in kitchen cabinet refinishing, metal roof coatings and virtually all other painting request. As a testament, 75% of our work we perform is either a referral or previous customer, that’s strong testimony.
